Grab That Baby

God would NEVER work like that!! I wonder how many times we’ve said or thought that very thing when something happened that we just didn’t understand? Let me tell you a story. In Exodus there was a mother who had a child and she named him Moses. She knew that Pharaoh had threatened to kill all the baby boys. In Exodus 2:3, it says: “But when she could no longer hide him, she got a basket made of papyrus reeds and waterproofed it with tar and pitch. She put the baby in the basket and laid it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile River.” Pretend you’re standing on the bank of the Nile River and you see a baby either go floating by or staying wedged in the reeds in a homemade basket being escorted by crocodiles and who knows what else! And to make matters worse, he’s about to be discovered by the daughter of the guy who put a “hit” out on the life of every newborn Hebrew baby boy! Don’t tell me you wouldn’t say “Oh no! That can’t be God. You know that God doesn’t work like that!” You know what? We would have both been wrong. Moses was exactly where God wanted him to be as he was heading towards his destiny. What are you going through today that causes you to say, “This can’t be God!” Let’s face it! God was right. “His ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts”. Just remember this: God doesn’t always work the way we think He should but that doesn’t mean He’s not working. And you can rest assured that He hasn’t forgotten you, even if you can feel the crocodiles breath as you float down your own Nile River!
