  Lord, calm our hearts. Heal our souls. Uplift our spirit. And take away our fears and anxiety. Let unkind words spoken roll off of us like water off a duck’s back. And let every good memory and kind word fill our heart with joy. We are about to embark on the next holiday season. Praying peace flow through you each and every day. Should I mention that it’s 32 days till Christmas?

If Christ wouldn’t, you shouldn’t. What am I talking about? Everything! If Christ wouldn’t say it, you shouldn’t say it. If Christ wouldn’t go to “that” place, neither should you. If Christ wouldn’t act like that, then you shouldn’t act like that. I remember the bracelet I used to have with WWJD on it…What would Jesus do? If we know what He wouldn’t do, then we know exactly what He WOULD do…and so should we.

One of the enemy’s biggest tricks is making us think that things are not okay even though God has already assured us that they are. We decide who we trust enough to listen to…Satan or God. We can trust God when we know His heart. Once we understand that He loves us and is always working in our lives to bring good…even when we can’t see it…we will walk away from worry, fear and doubt. Resting in the truth of His love is a good place to be.

”And once the storm is over you won’t remember how you made it through, how you managed to survive. But one thing is certain. When you come out of the storm you won’t be the same person that went in.” You’ll learn a lot during that storm. You will see the faithfulness of God, you will grow spiritually and you will see Him bring answers that seemed impossible. Stand firm in faith. Don’t let the wind and the rain bring fear.

Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress no matter how slow. And never BE discouraged if your own progress seems to take forever. You may look around at others and they seem to be miles ahead. Just remember the story of the tortoise and the hare. “Don’t brag about your lightning pace, for slow and steady wins the race!”

Search for the joy when it’s easier to say “it’s not fair”. That seems to be the battle cry of America. Life’s not fair. Set yourself apart from the complainers and the naysayers. A thankful heart sees the good when others see the bad. A thankful heart finds joy in the smallest things. Choose wisely.
