Do you remember the verse in Galatians 5:7 that says “You did run well; Who did hinder you?” Just because we’re growing in our Christian faith, it doesn’t mean we can let our guard down. When trouble comes knocking on our door, THEN we’ll find out just how much we’ve really grown! We will find ourselves face to face with some difficult decisions. And just when we think we’ve run “past our old sin”, the enemy will use someone or some “thing” to draw us back into our same old mess. Those things are called triggers. It can be something as simple as a smell, a song, a thought, a certain laugh and once that trigger goes off, it throws us back to the “past sin”. The bad part is that the enemy has a way of making that sin look so very good. He leaves off the part where we crashed and burned the first time. When we are self- centered we can’t be Christ-centered. There’s only one center! There’s only one throne in that center. And we don’t belong on it! If we remember that, we’ll be just fine

In the book of Psalms, chapter 1, God is showing us a way to walk in the blessings of life. It says “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in that law does he meditate day and night.” In life we all have to make a decision that will change the course of our lives forever. Are we going to run with the crowd or walk with God? We can’t do both. You see, every one of us has a divine appointment with God and He will call us at a moments’ notice to let us know when He wants to talk with us or send us on an assignment. As long as we’re running with the crowd, we’ll miss that voice, His voice. In life, there are three voices. The voice of God, the voice of Satan and the voice of people (including you and me). We have to learn to shut out every voice but His. It’s the only one that will lead us to our intended…

Ever feel like a diamond in the rough? You know there’s a “jewel” in there somewhere but you just can’t seem to find it. Not to worry! Every trial and every hard patch in life is meant take that roughness away. A diamond is created through friction! So are you!

In the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1 it says “ To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven”.  When I was in school many moons ago, there was a song out called Turn, Turn, Turn by the Byrds. I would sing it and think “yep, that’s right…everything has a season.” But when a season dealing with people becomes a reality in your life, it isn’t always easy to accept. We have a tendency to want to keep people in our lives forever. It’s hard to think about them not being a part of our everyday life. But here’s something you need to remember: Your destiny is never tied to people who either walk away, move away or drift away. You can cry over it, question it, hate it, even beg them to stay. But the bottom line is this: the people who are meant to be in your life are still there. The rest of them were there for a season. That doesn’t just apply to people we love or friends. What if it’s someone who has been helping us grow spiritually? They spent hours building us up and pushing us forward. Even they…

Hurting people hurt other people…with their anger, their words, their pain. If you don’t understand that their anger and ugly words are coming from a place of woundedness, you will take those things to heart. You may even feel like you’re responsible. Don’t let THEIR anger get inside you! Let their words slide off of you and begin to pray for them. God can heal their hurts
