Laugh a Lot
I don’t care who you are, where you come from or what you look like, make me laugh and I’ll be your friend forever! The Bible says “Laughter doeth good like a medicine”. Look around you and you’ll see a lot to laugh about…probably you could look at yourself and laugh about some crazy thing you just did…like look for your phone while using it to talk to someone. I wouldn’t know about that one personally! Okay, maybe just a few times I might have done that! Laugh today…it’s good for you!
Learn a Lesson
”The past is where we learned the lesson. The future is where we apply the lesson. We can’t give up in the middle.” So many trials teach us something valuable but we can feel overwhelmed in the process. Life is hard and certainly isn’t for the faint of heart. But we have to hold on to the thought that God is working behind the scenes and He will bring good out of all things. AND know this, what we learn in the first trial will be used in our future and we’ll be glad we know how to handle it the second time around.
Givers and Takers
”Givers have to learn to set limits because takers don’t have any”. Remember the scripture that says “don’t let your right hand know what your left hand is doing”? We all know that we aren’t supposed to wave our tithe in the air for all to see…but there’s so much more in that verse. Many times, God will have us give secretly instead of handing money to someone. It’s very easy for that person to use us as their source. That place is reserved for God alone! We have to be careful that we don’t step into that position!!
Rage Be Gone!
Rage, the silent killer…it kills dreams, lives, relationships, job opportunities. Rage that’s tucked down so deep inside, we don’t even want to admit we have it. This may surprise you, but those who know us well know exactly what’s brewing under the surface. It’s just a matter of time before something crosses our path that angers us or offends us…then here comes the rage spewing all over everything and everybody. Then we have to either pretend like it didn’t happen or go about apologizing. It’s an exhausting way to live. It’s time…time to ask God to show you the root of your anger and rage…it can be insecurity, a control issue, failure to get what you want or feel entitled to… and the list goes on and on. When you see what’s causing the problem, then God can begin the healing process
Speed Bump in life!
Trust is an easy word to say but not so easy to walk out. We pray for God to close doors but we still seem to find it difficult to accept when relationships end, job offers close in our face, or the thing we wanted most dissolves right in front of us. Probably would be a good idea for us to remember that one closed door will always lead to another one that’s opening at exactly the right moment. Hang in there! It’s not over…it’s just a speed bump in life.
Control Freaks Beware
To all of the control freaks out there (of which I might know something about)….Do you realize that we really can’t control anything at all? Not really! Our lives can turn on a dime, what you thought you had taken care of can fall apart in a heartbeat. With one hand we hold tightly to our planners, our notepads, our calendars and with the other hand we’re trying to climb onto the throne of our lives. You and I were never meant to have control. But we sure give it a good try. Let me ask you this question: how’s that working for ya’? God alone is the One who should be guiding our lives. He has plans and purposes greater than anything you could ever imagine. So whoa Nellie…let go of the reins and let God take you through this life one day at a time. You might just be amazed at what happens.
