Partner not a Project!
If you know a woman who is about to marry someone, here are some words of wisdom to pass on. Tell them to be sure to marry a PARTNER, not a PROJECT. Too many women marry a PROJECT and for the next 50 years, they do nothing but complain about him. She is complaining because God knows she’s tried her best to “fix him” and change him into the man of her dreams.. Ladies, if you don’t love him the way he is, then leave the poor guy alone because there is somebody out there looking for a PARTNER just like him.
Laugh a Lot!
Life is better when you’re laughing! I’m pretty sure we should do our best to get in a whole lot of laughter on a daily basis. If you can’t find anything to laugh out, check out yourself. We’re always doing something that’s worthy of a good laugh. Besides the fact, it feels good. Really good. And when you’re laughing you don’t have time to think about your problems. No wonder the Bible says Laughter does good like a medicine!
Leave Drama Behind
“Some people create their own storms, and then get mad when it rains”. Drama is best left to the stage. If you don’t want turmoil in your life, you have to guard your mouth so you know WHEN to speak and WHAT to speak. Words spoken without thinking about how the other person will receive them isn’t using wisdom! If you know what you’re about to say is going to bring chaos and pain, then don’t say it. Jesus said blessed are the peacemakers….no more drama sounds pretty good to me!
Miserable or Strong?
We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same. How do we do that? It starts with how we speak over ourselves. You can talk yourself strong as easily as you can talk yourself miserable. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” “God gives strength for the day”…speak over yourself. But whatever you do, don’t sit and have a pity party. That’s when you start moaning and complaining and talking about how miserable life is and how unhappy you are. Nope, leave those words behind and walk smack dab into a better future.
Do Your Best
Never stop doing your best just because someone doesn’t give you credit. This isn’t between them and you. It’s between you and God. I must admit that it’s easier to plow through a job when you get pats on the back and big smiles from the boss…and it’s really great if the paycheck shows how awesome they think you are. But I guarantee you that God is watching everything you do and your reward will be way better than man can give you.
The Cause of Christ
Work for the “cause” of Christ not for the “applause” of people. Whatever we do, we do for Him, and Him alone. I know it feels good if the world showers us with attention and adoration. But God says He won’t share His glory with man. We have to be careful that what we do isn’t done for a pat on the back or a round of applause. We just do it for the One we love and one day we will hear “Well done thou good and faithful servant…enter in to the joys of the Lord”. And on that day, you will hear the applause of Heaven in those very words.
