Enough for Today
This is your Monday morning reminder that you can handle whatever this week throws at you. For some of us, the week will be full of small problems but for others, the winds are going to blow and the earth is going to shake. In that case we need to remember that just like God gave manna to the children of Israel in the desert, He gives us what we need to get through just one day. No sense looking at tomorrow and worrying because you aren’t equipped to handle it yet.
Heaven is Talking
”God is working for you tonight. Heaven is holding a conversation about you” and God’s Holy Spirit is working overtime getting us through this walk of life. It’s so important that He knows we may need some help because He’s the One who can help us. Did you know that God has angels who have been assigned to you?” Heaven is always looking for ways to support you and push you forward! I love it! Heaven is talking about us right now, making decisions in our favor, guaranteeing us that He knows what we’re going through.
Playing with the Devil
We can’t defeat the demons we enjoy playing with! We open doors that allow Satan to come in and wreak havoc in our lives when we flirt with sin. When my son was little, I told him not to get in the road or he would get hurt. When I went in the house, he would go towards the road and touch it with his toe. Quiet rebellion I’d say! That’s a lot like we do. We may not steal big things but too many people fail to tell a clerk when she’s given them too much money back. They’re the same ones who feel like the boss has plenty of money so he won’t miss the office supplies we carry home. What’s wrong with that? We’re opening doors! Quiet rebellion!
Wisdom Wins!
I read something that was full of wisdom. “The secret to living well and longer is: eat half, walk double, laugh triple and love without measure.” I’m thinking I might have this switched around a bit from time to time. The one that really grabs me is LOVE without measure. What a wonderful life God has given us. It’s up to us to share His love with the world. The world starts inside our house with our family. If we can love our family unconditionally, we can love anybody! It’s in our families that we see the best and the worst. And for some reason, they think they can say anything even if it hurts us! So keep practicing with the ones who try your patience and your love will continue to grow.
God Encounter
I don’t know about you but I don’t go to church to be ENTERTAINED. What I want more than anything is an ENCOUNTER with God. No matter how great the entertainment is, it’s only the presence of God that changes the world I live in. When I’m struggling to overcome an addiction, walking through a trial, or making major life decisions, I need Jesus. When I’m trying to survive financially and don’t know how my next utility bill will be paid, only Jesus can help me through! If I’m in a service where the presence of God is flowing through the building, I know that I can make it through the week. May you find His presence tomorrow at church.
Don’t Let Turkeys Win
Never let someone else’s bad behavior destroy your inner peace. Sometimes we have to fight to hold onto that peace. When someone is mean, we don’t have to listen. When someone is rude and unkind, we can walk away. If we are a child of God, then we have His peace inside us. How do we activate it? The Bible says “He will keep you in perfect peace when your mind is stayed on Him”….so don’t let the mean turkeys in life get you down. Their behavior doesn’t have to affect you if your eyes are on Jesus.
