D-I-V-O-R-C-E

This bears repeating: D-i-v-o-r-c-e! We sing about it, talk about it, judge it and choose sides. I know from experience how devastating divorce is without everybody around you having an opinion. Shattered people are just trying to get through the day moment by moment. Hurting people are wondering how they can make it financially and if they’ll ever find love again. What I would have given for someone to come alongside me with prayer and encouraging words. Someone who would have offered love instead of condemnation. If you know someone who is in the middle of the mess, tell them about a white haired gal who thought her life was over but instead found that Jesus was working all along. Let them know that they can make it even if it looks hopeless. And one more thing…let them know she’s praying for them right now.

Good Godly Character

Character is built when you are in the dark when no one is watching. The decisions that build your character are made behind the scenes. It’s determining in your spirit to be honest when the world isn’t, to stay true to Jesus no matter what and holding a standard for yourself that lines up with God’s Word. Good character speaks volumes and as a Christian, it’s vital.

Wag Tail, not Tongue

”The reason dogs have so many friends is because they wag their tail instead of their tongue”. People who wag their tongue need to be avoided at all cost. Have you ever talked with someone who gossiped and felt like you needed to take a bath to get the dirt off of you? They told stories about anybody and everybody. Let’s face it, we’re just as guilty when we stand and listen. Those who gossip are operating in one of the activities God hates. So let’s be like that dog and wag our “tail” and not our tongue!

Walk forward!

”The hardest part about walking away is the not looking back” (J.Killian) It happened to Lot’s wife as she left the things and people she loved…and look what happened to her! Looking back fills us with desire for the things we’ve walked away from. It’s important we keep our eyes on where we’re going not where we’ve been or we’ll turn back

Strenth in Adversity

Strength is born in adversity. You may have lost the inning but I know that you’ll win the game. If you find yourself battling in any area, keep in mind that God is shaping you into a person of great strength. Oh, you’ll learn other things too. Seems to me that we can start thanking God for what He’s doing in our lives no matter what it looks like around us

This Too Shall Pass

The best thought to hold onto when life is spinning around you is: “This too shall pass”. So many things in our lives come and go. Life is seasonal …it’s like the weather in Wayne County. If you don’t like what’s happening today, stick around and 8 hours from now, it will be different. So wherever you are, hang in there. I know it looks bad and it feels even worse but “This too shall pass.” And while you’re waiting for it to pass, ask Jesus what you can learn in the middle of this mess. Don’t waste the experience.
