No Comparison!
Don’t compare your life to others, wishing you were them instead of you. No matter how good they may look on the outside, you can’t see their problems, their bank account, their doubts and fears, their hours spent maintaining their lifestyle or their addictions and hang-ups. You may just find that you are way better off than you thought!
You Are a Powerhouse
In 1 Peter 2:9, it tells us an important truth “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light”. If we belong to Jesus, we carry the presence of the living God with us every day of our lives. We don’t have to feel anointed to be anointed! The enemy will always try to get us to go by our feelings. To do that, he hits us with thoughts of inadequacy, fear, and doubt. I’m sure you could add a lot of others to that list of crazy thoughts. He will use anything he can to keep us from realizing who we are in Christ Jesus. Every time we step into the grocery store, into the work place, the school house or our living room, we carry the presence of God. The Bible tells us in Ephesians 3:20 that “He will do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that works in us.” The word for power in the Greek is dunamis and it means Holy Spirit driven power.…
Value Comes from God
What others think of you is none of your business. It can only lead one of two places. If they think you’re great, it’s “big head city” for you, my friend. Pride isn’t too attractive. And if they think you’re awful, you can fall into a deep, dark depression. Neither place is meant for you. Never depend on the world to tell you who you are!
Shut the Door
Do you remember the verse in Galatians 5:7 that says “You did run well; Who did hinder you?” Just because we’re growing in our Christian faith, it doesn’t mean we can let our guard down. When trouble comes knocking on our door, THEN we’ll find out just how much we’ve really grown! We will find ourselves face to face with some difficult decisions. And just when we think we’ve run “past our old sin”, the enemy will use someone or some “thing” to draw us back into our same old mess. Those things are called triggers. It can be something as simple as a smell, a song, a thought, a certain laugh and once that trigger goes off, it throws us back to the “past sin”. The bad part is that the enemy has a way of making that sin look so very good. He leaves off the part where we crashed and burned the first time. Once he gets the hook back in our minds, then he’ll tell us to go ahead! Who would know? It would be your little secret. Listen folks, what’s done in the dark is revealed in the light. When we hide our sins they…
Self-Centered ??
When we are self- centered we can’t be Christ-centered. There’s only one center! There’s only one throne in that center. And we don’t belong on it! If we remember that, we’ll be just fine
Christ or the Crowd
In the book of Psalms, chapter 1, God is showing us a way to walk in the blessings of life. It says “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in that law does he meditate day and night.” In life we all have to make a decision that will change the course of our lives forever. Are we going to run with the crowd or walk with God? We can’t do both. You see, every one of us has a divine appointment with God and He will call us at a moments’ notice to let us know when He wants to talk with us or send us on an assignment. As long as we’re running with the crowd, we’ll miss that voice, His voice. In life, there are three voices. The voice of God, the voice of Satan and the voice of people (including you and me). We have to learn to shut out every voice but His. It’s the only one that will lead us to our intended…
