How do You Speak?
We all want our voices to be heard! We just need to make sure that we know the difference between speaking up with intention and speaking up for attention! Wisdom flows through those who think about their words. But foolishness sides with attention seekers!
Train Up a Child
In the book of Proverbs, it says “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Did you notice it says train up not raise up? We raise dogs but train children. We give dogs love, food, water and shelter and that’s great but children require so much more. They need to feel safe, loved and valuable. They need to know who God is and what place He has in their life. God told the Israelites to obey His Words but then He took it a little further. In Deuteronomy 6, it says “ You shall teach them (His Words) diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” It’s easier to build strong children than repair broken men. We build children by speaking words of life both over them and to them. Children need to know that God loves them unconditionally. Whether it’s good or bad, children get their idea of who God is by watching you. They need to hear they’re special, smart, loved, funny, kind;…
Be Thankful, Get Happy
No one is in charge of your happiness but you! The quickest way to “get happy” is to “get thankful”. It changes even a bad day into a good day! Give it a try…What are YOU thankful for!?
Grab That Baby
God would NEVER work like that!! I wonder how many times we’ve said or thought that very thing when something happened that we just didn’t understand? Let me tell you a story. In Exodus there was a mother who had a child and she named him Moses. She knew that Pharaoh had threatened to kill all the baby boys. In Exodus 2:3, it says: “But when she could no longer hide him, she got a basket made of papyrus reeds and waterproofed it with tar and pitch. She put the baby in the basket and laid it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile River.” Pretend you’re standing on the bank of the Nile River and you see a baby either go floating by or staying wedged in the reeds in a homemade basket being escorted by crocodiles and who knows what else! And to make matters worse, he’s about to be discovered by the daughter of the guy who put a “hit” out on the life of every newborn Hebrew baby boy! Don’t tell me you wouldn’t say “Oh no! That can’t be God. You know that God doesn’t work like that!” You know what? We would…
God Has the Answer
Stop thinking so much. Your head might explode. It’s alright not to know all the answers. They will come to you when you least expect it like manna from heaven. When you need it, the answer will be there.
The Missing Piece
The world is full of people who can manage their surroundings but they can’t manage their lives. The Bible tells us that God has to be the center of everything we do! There’s a reason for that. When God created you and me, He created us with a place that only HE can fill. We can spend years without understanding what that means. We’re like a giant jigsaw puzzle with a piece missing. Without it we will never be able to show the world who we were really created to be. Let’s face it folks, we need the “God” piece right smack in the middle where it belongs. The world has a lot of fake pieces to offer us. We see people every day who are miserable and fill their lives with drugs and alcohol and all kinds of ungodly behavior. We can have all the things that money can buy, win awards for all of our successes and enjoy the praises of man but at the same time, our lives can be spinning out of control. The emptiness inside can never be filled by “things” not even the best things that money can buy. We all know people who…
