He Quieted the Winds!
Psalms 107:29-32 “Then you called out to God in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time. He quieted the wind down to a whisper, put a muzzle on all the big waves. And you were so glad when the storm died down and he led you safely back to harbor. So thank God for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves. Lift high your praises when the people assemble, shout Hallelujah when the elders meet!” The Msg If you are having a particularly hectic, crazy, bad day or week; find a quiet spot, close your eyes and just say this next part out loud a few times…. “He quieted the winds down to a whisper”, I bet you feel better!! God has so much awesome, powerful, authority and all in love for his children! Praise don’t panic!! Debi Camp
Christmas!
Spent yesterday with the family! Our daughter Tina hosted the event and what a production! From a table full of food to a ceiling to floor Christmas tree, it was a sight to behold! As I sat on the couch watching the grandkids opening presents and their parents visiting with each other, I was overwhelmed with a sense of thankfulness. God was doing more than just what I could see with the natural eye. I have prayed for each one of them and I know that those prayers are being answered. The little ones are under 4 1/2 years old but I am praying into their future. I see mighty warriors in the kingdom being shaped by God. I am even praying over who they will marry someday. God has plans and purposes for these children and their families. What a blessing…it was quite a crowd…Tina, Becky, Ben, Sara, Jon, Nikki, Ella Grace, Grayson and Jude were the stars (and co-starring Buster and Otis). Jerry and I rounded out the group!! As they used to say in the newspaper, “a good time was had by all”. Funny how, as you grow older, you cherish family times more than ever. Praying that you…
Save Me Lord!
Too often, we cry out to God for help but what we really want is for him to come alongside and work with us….following OUR plan, doing it OUR way. When Peter was walking on water and started to go under, he didn’t say help me! He said, “Lord, save me”! God grabbed him by the hand and lifted him out of the raging sea. If you need God, it might be a good idea to yell save me and take your hands off the controls!! Let Him do it His way. You’ll never be sorry!
God is For Us
In the Old Testament, we see God moving in a very specific pattern. King Jehoshaphat understood that “pattern” perfectly. What was the pattern? God would constantly confuse and scatter the enemy. The Bible says “If God be for us, who can be against us?” If you and I ask God, He will confuse and scatter the enemy for us too. Ask Him today to break the assignment of the enemy off of your life.
Christ in Christmas
The world sees Christmas as a time for parties and gifts, tinsel and trees. Nothing that changes their hearts, just something to make them feel happy for the moment. As Christians, was have so much more….joy unspeakable that comes from knowing the Christ that came to change the world, to change us…to give us life and life abundantly. And when we take our last breath, we will walk into an eternity with Him. So glad I know the Christ in Christmas!
LIfe Is Like a Heartbeat
Life is exactly like a heartbeat. If you look on a monitor, you will see the heartbeat go up and down. We all have our ups and downs. But the cry of our heart is for things to level out…to become a flat line. But a flat line means something has died. It’s in the ups and downs that life is exactly the way it should be. Jesus came to give us life and give it more abundantly
